Drivers should plan ahead to avoid closures and allow for extra travel time

In preparation for the widening project on State Route 89 from Junction SR 89A to Deep Well Ranch Road, work to relocate utility poles and lines is underway on State Route 89 in Prescott, from south of MacCurdy Drive to Antelope Villa Drive.

The following restrictions will be in place 24 hours a day through spring 2018, when the relocation work is scheduled for completion:

  • SR 89 northbound traffic from south of MacCurdy Drive to Antelope Villa Drive will be prohibited from making left turns. Drivers will make a U-turn at the Willow Creek Road / Deep Well Ranch Road roundabout and then proceed south to make right turns only.
  • SR 89 southbound traffic heading to the Prescott airport must exit at the Willow Creek Road/Deep Well Ranch Road roundabout, and take Deep Well Ranch Road to Crystal Lane to Janine Drive to MacCurdy Drive.

Left turns from MacCurdy Drive to both north- and southbound SR 89 will be remain open.Drivers should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
