Crews moving temporary barriers along HOV lane south of Jomax Road

Southbound Interstate 17 will be narrowed to two lanes between Jomax and Deer Valley roads in north Phoenix on Thursday night, Jan. 24, for work on an Arizona Department of Transportation interchange reconstruction project.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely while the following overnight restriction is in the place:

Southbound I-17 narrowed to two lanes between Jomax and Deer Valley roads from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (Jan. 25).

Crews will move temporary concrete barrier wall that is used for setting a work zone next to the southbound HOV lane in that area. The southbound HOV lane, which has been closed to traffic since early January, will be open to traffic early Friday morning.

Drivers should expect other future I-17 lane restrictions for the $50 million project to rebuild the interchanges at Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads.

Information about the project is available via azdot.gov/I17TrafficInterchanges.
